Creative Arts
All students participate in the creative arts. A highlight is a school musical production which is performed biennially and in between, other performances feature regularly.
 | Music is very much part of the Schools culture and is often integrated with other curriculum areas. We are fortunate to have a specialist music teacher who is responsible for all class music.
There is a Middle and Senior choir which have regular opportunities to perform both within and outside the school. In addition there is an orchestra, marimba group, a school band and sometimes other other musical groups at school which all practise and perform regularly.
Individual tuition for a variety of instruments is available at school on a user-pay basis outside school hours.
Drama is an important part of the programme and a specialist teacher visits one day a week to assist with the implementation of this. Dance programmes also feature as part of the curriculum.
Our Kapa Haka is impressive and attracts a large number of students. These children practise weekly and are given many opportunities to perform.
An annual speech competition involves all children and each year successful Senior students enter an inter-school competition.
Other activities also feature periodically, such as chess.
